A Lesson on Kindness and Acceptance
Once upon a time, in a far away desert, there was a really pretty rose. The rose thought she was the most beautiful flower around, but there was one thing that bothered her: she had to grow next to an ugly cactus.
Every day, the rose would be mean to the cactus, making fun of how it looked. But the cactus never said anything back. The other plants nearby tried to make the rose understand, but she was too focused on her own appearance.
Then one summer, it got really, really hot and there was no water left in the desert. The poor rose started to get droopy. Her beautiful petals dried up and lost their bright color.
One day, the rose saw a little bird drink water from the cactus. Feeling embarrassed, she asked the cactus if she could have some water too. The kind cactus agreed and helped both of them through the tough summer.
The lesson of the story is: Don’t judge someone by how they look.
