Once upon a time, there was a poor farmer and his wife who lived in a land far away. One day, they tried to take some fruits from their neighbor’s garden. But it turned out that their neighbor was actually an old, wicked witch!
The witch was furious and threatened to turn the couple into rats. The poor couple was so scared that they agreed to give the witch their first child when they had one.
A few years passed and the farmer and his wife had a beautiful baby girl. The old witch came to take her away and locked her up in a tall tower. She named the baby girl Rapunzel.
Rapunzel grew up in the tower and the only person she ever saw was the old witch. Every day, the witch used to call out to her, “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!” Rapunzel would let her long, golden hair down from the tower, and the witch would climb up to visit her.
One day, a handsome prince was passing by and saw the witch climb up to Rapunzel’s tower. When the witch left, the prince called out, “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!” and climbed up to meet her.
Rapunzel and the prince fell in love, but their secret meetings were discovered by the witch. The witch was so angry that she cut off Rapunzel’s hair and banished her to the forest.
The prince was heartbroken and lost his sight due to the witch’s curse. He wandered through the forest until Rapunzel found him and her tears healed his wounds and restored his eyesight.
The prince and Rapunzel were able to reunite and went away to the prince’s kingdom to live happily ever after. They were far away from the wicked witch and her spells.
So, children, always remember, stealing is bad and it’s important to be honest and kind to others. Also, true love conquers all!
The End
Meet the Brilliant Mind Behind the Story! ????
The story of “Rapunzel” is a fairy tale that has been passed down through generations, and its exact author is unknown. The earliest known written version of the story was published by the Brothers Grimm in their collection of fairy tales called “Grimms’ Fairy Tales” or “Children’s and Household Tales” in 1812. The Brothers Grimm, Jacob Grimm and Wilhelm Grimm, were German academics and folklorists who collected and published numerous fairy tales and folk stories. They played a significant role in preserving and popularizing traditional folklore. While they were not the original authors of the stories they collected, they were responsible for recording and compiling them in written form. Therefore, the Brothers Grimm are often credited as the authors of the written version of “Rapunzel.”
